Parham, local railway postal clerk, died shortly after receiving injuries sustained which involved a fractured skull, when the car he was driving plunged headlong out of the West Crawford street road and headed into a telephone pole on the right side of the road, Wednesday night. The accident occurred when the machine returning from Katy Golf course, was rounding the corner at the extreme northern end of the street. Accompanying Mr. Parham was a lifelong friend, Jess McClure, of Durant who had been with Parham to the Katy golf links where they had been playing golf. McClure, formerly of this city, but now in charge of the Durant Gold course, was here on business and had joined his friend for a game of golf before returning to Durant. He was uninjured in the crash which proved the death blow to Parham. He was overcome with grief at the loss of his friend. The Short-Murray ambulance was called and made a record run to the scene of the adcident and to the Denison city hospital. Death came in about one hour. Dr. Wm. Freeman was called and did all that possibly could be done to save the life of Mr. Parham. A fatal fracture at the base of the skull was the major injury received. Judge M.M. Scholl was called and held an inquest and found the facts as indicated. Mrs. Parham at the time of the accident was in Chicago with her 2 children, where she has only recently been discharged from a hospital in that city after recovering from an operation. Upon notification of the death of her husband, she left immediately for Denison and will arrive sometime Friday morning. Funeral arrangements will wait her arrival.
