McGuire 1881 - 1952 Primitive Baptist Daisy Lessly McGuire 1871 - 1950 Pioneer Teacher Primitive Baptist Dallas Morning News 12 April 1951 Funeral Set Today for Mrs. McGuire, Grayson Resident Special to The News Sherman, Texas, April 11 - Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Hagerman Baptist Church for Mrs. Daisy McGuire, 79, resident of Grayson County for seventy-four years, who died at her home in the German community Tuesday night after a 5-month illness. The Rev. B.A. Morris, pastor of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery. Mrs. McGuire was born in Fulton County, Missouri. She came to Texas with her parents in 1877. They settled in Grayson County. She was married to S.E. McGuire at Pottsboro in 1902. She is survived by her husband; five sons, Glenn McGuire of Sherman; Owen McGuire of Dallas; Noel McGuire of Austin; Gilbert McGuire and Forrest McGuire of College Station; a daughter, Mrs. J.L. Whitmore of Bastrop, La.; five sisters, Mrs. L.L. Wells of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. H.N. Clark of Denison; Mrs. Florence Maddox of Lubbock; Mrs. J.R. White of Vernon; and Mrs. J.E. Thurmon of Brownfield.
