  G.F. McGuire, 81, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center. He was born in Abernathy, Texas May 19, 1937, son of Nolan R. and Effie M. Richmond McGuire. He received his education in Carlsbad, New Mexico and Plainview, Texas. He and Mary Perkins were married in Denison December 8, 1967. G.F. was a police officer in Hereford, Lamesa, and Tulia, Texas before coming to Denison and working for Texas Instruments in Sherman for 29 years. He was of the Baptist faith and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and the Army National Guard. G.F. is survived by his wife of the home; sons, Keith McGuire and wife, Venus, of Garland, Texas; and Jeff Pilkilton and wife, Rhonda, of Calera, Oklahoma; daughters, Vonnie Crockett and husband, Jack, of Whitesboro, Texas; Cindy Smith and husband, Stan, of Savoy, Texas; Trina Stoff and husband, David, of Sherman; and Stephanie McKinstry and husband, David, of Pottsboro, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sam McGuire; and sister, Joyce Thomas. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Hancock officiating. Interment followed at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro. Serving as pallbearers were Kyle Perkins, Jeff Green, Mike Noles, Sam Tocquigny, Lloyd Rollins, and Lonnie Lavender.
