Marion 1872 - 1941 The Denison Press Monday, February 3, 1941 DEATH ROLL Charles Marion Enroute from his home near Georgetown from Pottsboro Sunday to secure medicine for his ill wife, Charles Henry Marion, 69, a farmer, died in his automobile approximately half a mile from his home, according to Justice of the Peace E.A. Wright who conducted an inquest. Marion's car became stuck in the mud, caused by the heavy rains before noon, and he hailed a passer-by, Jack Johnson, colored, to secure help and pull his car out. When Johnson returned with neighbors, they found the farmer dead behind the wheel of his car. He suffered a stroke of paralysis a year ago. A Pottsboro physician was summoned who notified Judge Wright. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today from the home with Rev. Ray Short officiating. Interment was at Georgetown cemetery, Short-Murray directing. Mr. Marion was born February 21, 1872, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.D. Marion of Pottsboro and was reared and educated here. He was married to Miss Jennie Bilderback at Sherman Dec. 10, 1898 and was a member of the Presbyterian church. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Millie Taylor of Foster, Texas; two nephews, Tom Marion of Kermit, Texas and Glen Marion of California, and two grandchildren. Mabell O.
