Katy Man Dies On Job Driving Terminal Bus
J. W. Loughmiller Succumbs To Heart Trouble After Making Round Trip today

J. W. (Jake) Loughmiller, about 42, resident of Denison and Katy employee for a number of years, was found dead early this morning in a bus he operated from Ray terminal to the city. Judge E. A. Wright, in an inquest, said he had died from heart failure.
Mr. Loughmiller, from a well-know Pottsboro family, resided at 2312 West Walker street and is survived by his widow and a small son, J. W. Jr., both of Denison.
The Katy man had driven the bus to Denison and returned to Ray terminal, parked the bus and had evidently went to the back end to rest. A negro employe, entering the machine to give it a routine cleaning, found Loughmiller, doubled up in the back.
Judge Wright said Mr. Loughmiller had been treated for heart trouble by physicians several months and had been recently told to take a rest from his duties.
Deceased was born June 18, 1896, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Loughmiller, at Pottsboro, where he was reared and educated. He was married at Sherman, June 3. 1920 to Miss Gladys Opwalt. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Coming to Denison, he served with the Katy, the enlisted in the army for eight months. Returning to Grayson county, he farmed near Pottsobor for several years before entering the Katy service again in 1927 which position he held until his death.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with interment at Georgetown, Short-Murray directing.
