  Jackie Malone 1935 - 1973 DOLL LADY LOSES FIGHT WITH CANCER Denison, Texas (AP) - The doll lady of Grayson County, who helped brighten Christmas for needy children over the last 3 years, has died of cancer. Jackie Malone, who once said that "not worrying about cancer is the secret of living wit it," lost her battle with the disease Friday. Mrs. Malone, 37, started repairing dolls for needy children shortly after she was told 4 years ago that she had bone cancer and would live only 6 months. "I want to do something to keep busy and help those less fortunate," she said as she began her work. Each Christmas for the past 3 years the Goodfellow organization distributed at least 300 dolls repaired by Mrs. Malone.
