After an extended illness, Pearl McKee Hall, 85, passed peacefully from this life on December 25 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born on October 17, 1923 in the Willow Springs community of Pottsboro, Texas to Walter and Elizabeth McKee. She attended school in Willow Springs and graduated from Denison High School where she was a star basketball player.
Pearl married Bill Hall of Denison in 1947. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1999. They have two sons, Barry and Garry.
She was a charter member of the Morton Street Church of Christ where she taught in the elementary department for several years. Through the years, her students have kept in touch with her and on the occasion of their first born, she would receive notification of the event.
After graduation from high school, Pearl worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator where she answered calls with "number please." She later did secretarial work for Kraft Foods, Perrin AFB and the Texas Department of Human Services. In 1995, she was selected Outstanding Woman in Texas Government and traveled to Austin to receive her award, which was presented by the Texas first lady Laura Bush.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, twin brother Earl McKee and his wife Dean, brother Claude McKee, sister Eula Fannie McKee Hite and her husband Sewell and brother-in-law Claude Woodley.
Those left to cherish loving memories include her sons Barry D. Hall of Denison, Garry Hall and wife Lisa, grandchildren Grace and Emily, brother Leo McKee and wife Lois, sister Elizabeth Cleo McKee Morrow and husband George, sister Jean Woodley and sister-in-law Ann McKee and many nieces and nephews.
The service celebrating her life will be held at Bratcher Funeral Home on Monday, December 29 at 11 a.m., officiated by Jerry Spradling and soloist Basil McClure. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
