James Thomas Griffith Following an illness of 6 days, James Thomas Griffith, 67-year-old retired farmer, died at 1 p.m. Thursday at his home, 709 West Coffin. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today at the home with Rev. Weaver officiating. Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery under the direction of Pal Noe, Denison Funeral Home. Mr. Griffith was born in Greenville, South Carolina, December 13, 1873, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brasier Griffith. He was married May 16, 1896 in Osage, Texas to Miss Cora Bell Cook. The family lived in Valley Mills, Texas before moving to Denison 3 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church. In addition to his widow, Mr. Griffith is survived by 2 sons, Luther and Gerald Griffith, both of Denison; 3 brothers, Lee Griffith of Dorchester; Mark Griffith of McGregor, Texas; and John Griffith of Lueders, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Reece of Marietta, Georgia; and 3 grandchildren.
