The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, December 13, 1903 After a 4 week's battle for life, John F. Green, aged 21 years, son of George and Sarah Green, died of pneumonia Saturday evening at 6 o'clock at the home of his parents, who reside at Pottsboro. He was the nephew of H.G. and L.W. Howe and Mrs. M.J. Fitzgerald of this city. He had been in the employment of the Denison City Water company, as water clerk, for the past 18 months and gained many friend while in Denison. He was buried at Georgetown on Monday, December 7th. His remains were followed by the largest concourse of friends ever witnessed at this place. The public school and all of the business houses of Pottsboro were closed in order that his many friends might attend the funeral. The deceased was a member of the South Methodist church, the W.O.W., the Woodmen Circle, and the C.M.A. The societies of which he was a member were represented from Denison, Pottsboro and Georgetown. Many of his friends from Denison went to the funeral. The casket was covered with beautiful flowers which were the gifts of his loving friends. Pottsboro has lost, by t he death of John F.
