Audrey Wiggins Bardwell 14 August 1919 - 30 April 2005 Delbert Milton Bardwell 21 July 1914 - 6 January 1998 wed 14 August 1935 THE SWEETWATER REPORTER Sweetwater, Texas: Audrey Wiggins Bardwell, 85, of Pottsboro died Saturday, April 30, 2005, in the Homestead Nursing Home in Denison. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2005, in the Johnson Moore Funeral Home chapel in Pottsboro with the Rev. Virgie Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro. Mrs. Bardwell was born on Aug. 14, 1919, in Ardmore, Okla., to William and Nettie Wiggins. She grew up on the family farm southwest of Ardmore, where she attended elementary schools at Crinerville and Amarada. She attended Plainview High School near Ardmore. She married Delbert Bardwell in 1935. They moved to Forsan the same year, where he worked for Cosden Oil Company for 43 years. She was active in school and civic affairs at Forsan. Mrs. Bardwell also served as the town's postal clerk for about 20 years. After retiring, they moved to Pottsboro in 1986. They were married 63 years. She was a loving Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Bardwell was one of the original members of Lakeway United Methodist Church in Pottsboro and she lived her entire life for her Lord and Savior. She truly loved her church and church family. Survivors include three sons, Milton and his wife, Jo, and Hubert and his wife, Diane, all of Allen, and Jerry of Pottsboro; six grandchildren, Michael Bardwell and his wife, and Diana Bardwell of Denton, Daniel and his wife of Allen, Chris Bardwell of Celina, Laura Bardwell of Durant, Okla., and Karen Bardwell of Pottsboro; and great-grandchildren, Terry Land and Chase Armstrong, both of Pottsboro, Dal Kelly of Durant, Okla., Brady, Katie and Gracie Bardwell, all of Allen, Sydney Bardwell of Denton, and Brock and Briana Bardwell of Celina. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Evelyn; her husband, Delbert, in 1998; one brother, Allen Wiggins of Big Spring; and two sisters, Ola Stroud of Big Spring and Orpha Kent of Sweetwater.
