- Joseph Charles "J.C." Elmore, 77, of Route 1 died Sunday at his
residence. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson-Moore
Chapel, with Everett Hodges, assisted by Bob Monroe, officiating.
Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Elmore was born Sept. 11, 1912, in Vindland, Wash., son of Grant and Angeline Elmore. He was educated in Denison schools and married Minnie Ruth Cook Sept. 21, 1931, in Durant. Elmore retired in 1976 from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, after 25 years of service. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Ruth, of Denison; son, Robert of Lafayette, Colo.; two daughters, Charlene Reagin of Boulder, Colo. and Helen Stratton of Pottsboro; four brothers, Jimmy of Sherman, J.O., Jack, Bill, all of Denison; two sisters, Dorothy Jones of Kirbeyville, Evelyn Beatty of Marna, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Elmore, Neal Elmore, Rick Reagin, Karl Reagin, Ralph Elmore and Jimmy Dale Elmore.  Denison - Funeral for Ruth Elmore, 79, of Denison, who died Wednesday in a local hospuital, were held Saturday in the Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Burial was in the georgetown Cemetery. Everett Hodges and Bob Monroe officiated. Mrs. Elmore was born April 5, 1911 in Bostic County, daughter of J.J. and Nora Cook. She attended Overton schools. She married Joseph C. Emore September 23, 1931 in Durant. He died September 2, 1990. Mrs. Elmore was a homemaker and a member of the Central Church of Christ. Surviving are son, Robert of Lafayette, Colorado; two daughters, Charlene Reagin of Boulder, Colorado and Helen Stratton of Pottsboro; brother, James Cook of Missouri; five sisters, Florence Countz, Dadie Cook, Faninie Perdue, Lottie Mosier, Jessie Travis, all of Pottsboro; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
