ALVIN E. COOK
Pottsboro
- Funeral for Alvin E. Cook, 66, a lifetime resident of Pottsboro area,
who died yesterday at a local hospital, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at
Johnson-Moore Chapel. Rev. Hugh Davis will officiate.
Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery.
Cook was born
at Oak Grove Community, May 31, 1917, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Cook.
He attended Pottsboro schools and married Genevieve Scofield Oct.
3, 1938 at Pottsboro. She died March 16, 1983. He was a
retired carpenter-home builder. He was a member of the Goergetown
Baptist Church and George R. Reeves Masonic Lodge No. 396.
Survivors
include two sons, Steve Cook of Pottsboro and Randell Cook of Caldwell;
daughters, Patricia Carlson of Spokane, Wash. and Gloria Squires of
Irving; two sisters, Lillian Cook and Marjorie Carder of Pottsboro; 13
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Bivins, James Dolezalek, Stanley Dutton, Jim Fry, Dee Sampson and R.M. Wilson.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8.
