The Denison Press Monday, September 19, 1938 pg. 1 JOSEPH S. CAMPBELL DIES HERE SUNDAY Joseph S. Campbell, 69, died Sunday morning at 11:27 at a local hospital after a 5 weeks illness. Mr. Campbell had lived around Denison 40 years. Funeral services were held at the Assembly of God church by Rev. P.A. Lewis Monday afternoon. Burial was at Georgetown cemetery with Short-Murray directing. Mr. Campbell was born in Missouri but left there as a small child with his parents for Texas. He lived for a short time at St. Joe, Texas but has lived the past 40 years in Grayson county. He married Miss Ellen Brown February 19, 1893 in Denison but his wife died November 29, 1929. He was a farmer and member of the Baptist church. Surviving are 2 sons, Charles and Leonard Campbell of Denison; 4 daughters, Mrs. V.L. Clarkson of Olney; Mrs. Jess Atkins of Denison; Mrs. Ada Stewart of Boyd, Texas; and Mrs. Calvin Gabbert of Dalhart; and 10 grandchildren.
