A resident of route 1, Pottsboro for
43 years, F.M. Farrell, 84-year-old farmer died Monday afternoon at 1:35 at his
home, following an illness of three months.
Funeral services were held this
afternoon at 2:30 from Georgetown cemeter, Rev. G.W. Wall officiating,
Internment was at Georgetown, Short-Murray directing.
Mr. Farrell was born in 1857, son of
Mr. and Mrs. James Farrell of Cincinnatti, where he was born and reared.
He went to Tennessee as a young man, later to Fort Gibson, Indian
Territory, where he resided until coming to Pottsboro community in 1898.
He was married to Miss Martha Waddle at Butlers Landing, Tenn., Jan. 29,
1888.
Surviving are his widow; seven daughters,
Mrs. J.H. Taylor, Mrs. A.S. Allen, Mrs. Alex Christman, all of Pottsboro; Mrs.
J.M. Stephens of Sherman, Mrs. Clifford Stephens of Tom Bean, Mrs. O.S.
Montgomery of Denison, fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
