Nettie S. Arther 29 January 1886 - 2 May 1920 Jack A. Arther 7 June 1876 - 3 May 1957 The Denison Press Friday, May 10, 1957 pg. 2 Funeral services for J.A. Arther, 81, of 2500 S. Fannin, were held Sunday afternoon with Rev. H.E. Allison officiating, Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery. Mr. Arther, a retired farmer, died at his home Friday, May 3, at 8:15 a.m. after 4 weeks of illness. Deceased was born in Macon, Georgia, June 7, 1876, the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Arther. The family moved to Cullman, Alabama when he was 8 and went to Kingston, Oklahoma when he was 12. He was married to Louann Hibdon at Kingston in 1898; she died in 1901 and Mr. Arther married Nettie Stakey in 1903 and she died in 1920. Later he moved to the Georgetown Community and was married in 1940 to Mrs. Fannie Hibdon. He lived in Kingston, Oklahoma before coming to Denison 43 years ago. He was a member of the Epting Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow; 3 sons, Earl and Claud of Denison and Edward Arther of St. Louis; 5 daughters, Mrs. Ethel Bilderback of Dallas; Mrs. Dollie Hodges of Kingston, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mary Davidson of San Francisco; Mrs. Evelyn James of Stonewall, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Hezel Hicklim of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Ann Beldsoe, Paile, Oklahoma; and 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Sherman Daily Democrat Saturday, September 4, 1920 INFANT DEAD Lucile, the 6-months-old daughter of J.A. Arthur, of Georgetown, near Pottsboro, died at the family home there Friday monting at 11 o'clock, and was buried Friday afternoon by the Stewart M. Scott Undertaking Company of this city.
