William H. Cantrell 1 April 1878 - 3 March 1959 Della Marion Cantrell 24 January 1880 - 27 February 1958 Denison Press Friday, March 7, 1958 pg. 3 Funeral services for Mrs. W.H. Cantrell, 78, were held at Johnson-Moore Chapel Friday, February 28, with Rev. Hugh Davis officiating. Interment was in Georgetown Cemetery with Johnson-Moore in charge. Mrs. Cantrell died at her home in Pottsboro Thursday, February 27, after 4 years of illness. She had lived in Pottsboro 50 years. Mrs. Cantrell was born in Alabama, Jamuary 24, 1880, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Sparks. She was married first to Jim Marion in Missouri and moved to Pottsboro. Mr. Marion died in 1908. She married December 23, 1909 to W.H. Cantrell, a farmer. She was a member of the Georgetown Baptist Church. Survivors are 3 sons, Glen Marion, Culver City, California; Joe Marion, Grand Prairie, Texas; and Gene Marion, VA hospital in Waco; a daughter, Mrs. Geo. Rutter, Pottsboro; and 6 grandchildren. Denison Press March 6, 1959 Funeral services for Wm. H. Cantrell, 81, of Pottsboro, were held at Johnson-Moore Chapel Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Hugh Davis of Georgetown officiating. Burial was in the Georgetown Cemetery with Johnson-Moore in charge. Mr. Cantrell, retired farmer, died in a local hospital Monday, March 2, after 2 years of illness. He had been a resident of the Pottsboro community for 50 years. He was born in Dawson County, Georgia, April 1, 1878, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe L. Cantrell. He attended school in Darison County, Georgia and was married in Emporia, Kansas, December 23, 1909, to Della Sudie Parks. Mrs. Cantrell died February 27, 1958. He was a member of the Georgetown Baptist Church. Survivors are 3 sons, Joe of Grand Prairie; Gene of Waco; and a step-son, Glen Marion of Culver City, California; a daughter, Mrs. George Rutter of Pottsboro; 2 sisters, Mrs. Cindy Mathis of Cummings, Georgia and Mrs. Nancy Jane Mathis of Gainesville, Georgia; 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
