H. Halton, Denison, Texas (Note : Mary Elizabeth Blankenship was the only daughter of Sarah T. Bradley & George David Blankenship. She was a twin to Oscar Glenn Blankenship, who survived whooping cough. Mary died at the age of six weeks in 1912. Her stone is beside her parents in Georgetown Cemetery. ~ ~ ~ Kay Blankenship) The Denison Press Friday, October 12, 1956 pg. 2 Funeral services were held at Bratcher Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 for G.D. Blankenship, 76, who died in Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman Monday at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Harold Cummins of Hagerman Baptist Church officiated and interment was in Georgetown Cemetery with Bratcher in charge. Mr. Blankenship lived on Rt. 3. He had been ill two months and in the hospital 8 days. He was born in Tennessee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Blankenship, and was married in Sherman in 1901 to Sallie Bradley. He was a farmer and a member of the Baptist church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sallie Blankenship, Rt. 3; six sons, L.H. Blankenship of Pennsylvania and George W., A.A., Truman, O.G. and D.B., all of Denison; two brothers, R.H. Blankenship of Denison and Braxton of Sherman; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
