The Denison Daily Herald Monday, March 19, 1906 DEATH OF MRS. FRENCH An Old Settler of Grayson County Passes Away Pottsboro, Texas, March 19 - Mrs. Susan A. French, wife of W.H. French, died at her residence in the east part of town at 6:30 o'clock this morning. Mrs. French was born October 2, 1832, in Perryville, Boyle County, Kentucky. Her maiden name was Susan A. Penney. She was married in October 1867 to W.H. French. The family moved from Kentucky to Missouri in 1868, where they lived until 1875, when they came to Texas and located just east of Sherman, where they lived until 1879, when they removed to Pottsboro, w here they have lived continuously ever since with the exception of 2 years spent in Denison. She leaves besides her husband, 2 step-sons, E.L. French of Pottsboro and Tom French of Paul's Valley, I.T., whom she raised from childhood and 3 step-grandchildren. Mrs. French joined the Baptist Church when a girl and has been a faithful and consistent member of same for over 50 years. Bedsides her relatives, she leaves a host of friends having been an active and useful member of Pottsboro society for over 25 years. The funeral services were conducted from the Baptist Church at 2 o'clock, Tuesday, March 20th. Interment followed in the Georgetown Cemetery at 3 o'clock.
