"Steve" Smith 25 March 1929 - 23 November 2010 Carrie Lanter Smith 31 March 1931 - 28 April 2013 wed 15 February 1946   Herald Democrat November 25, 2010 DENISON - Herbert Stephen "Steve" Smith, 81, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 at Homestead of Denison. Mr. Smith was born March 25, 1929 in Ft. Worth, the son of Burton and Ruth Marie (Adams) Smith. Steve married the love of his life, Carrie Lanter Feb. 15, 1946 in Weatherford. He served his country proudly and retired as a MSGT from the U.S. Air Force. Steve was a member of the Elks, American Legion and the VFW. He was also a member of Central Church of Christ. Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Smith is survived by his loving family: wife of 64 years, Carrie Smith of Denison; son, Roy Stephen Smith of San Rafael, Calif.; grandson, Jamey R. Williams; brothers, John W. Smith of Granbury, and Robert P. Smith of Round Rock; sister, Evelyn J. Sarlow of Lipan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; beloved daughter, Donna Lynn "Toni" Smith Williams; sisters, Bertha N. McAfee and Ruth Eubank; and brothers, Marvin J. Smith, David T. Smith and Joel T. Smith. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26 at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro with Minister Everett Hodges officiating. There will be no set time for visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 W. Main in Denison.  The Herald Democrat May 1, 2013 DENISON - Carrie Smith, 82, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Beacon Hill. Mrs. Smith was born March 31, 1931 in Fort Worth, the daughter of Roy Lanter and Jim Carrie (Lindsay) Lanter. She married the love of her life, Herbert Stephen Smith Feb. 15, 1946 in Weatherford. Carrie was a homemaker, who loved her family and always put them first. She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Denison. Carrie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving family, son, Roy Stephen Smith of San Rafael, Calif.; grandson, Jamey R.
