The Herald Banner January 16, 2013 POTTSBORO - Helen Euleen Townsend, 79, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at the Medical Center of Plano, Texas, surrounded by her family. The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation from 6 -8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel in Denison, Texas. Pastor Gregg Knight will officiate. Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas. Pallbearers will be Randy Sparks, Randy Kelsey, Paul Walton, James Schnitker, Larry Finke and Bo Price. Honorary pallbearers will be David Mayes, Danny Kelly and Jerry Worthington. Helen was born Tuesday, Sept. 12, 1933 in Pottsboro, the daughter of Sam Gilloud and Minnie Wilma McGloughlan Gilloud. She attended school in Pottsboro and married Marvin Lee Townsend in Denison on Oct. 5, 1949. She was a member of Pottsboro Church of Christ. She loved her family and was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a kind, beautiful woman who always put others first, no matter the struggles she had in her own life. She worked hard all her life and expected nothing in return. Her strength in life was with her till her final days. She can finally rest now. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Townsend of Pottsboro; son, Wallace Townsend of Cache, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lori Townsend of Denison; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Joy Townsend of Pottsboro; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and William Hodges of Denton, Texas; seven grandchildren, Stormy Sparks, Sheri Etter, Stephanie Townsend, Kristy Townsend, Garrett Townsend, Rachel Whitley, Elanie Hodges; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Laverne "Bud" Guilloud; sisters Betty Faulkner and Lila Schnitker; and her doggies whom she loved dearly.
