Syble T. Yost 13 July 1932 - 21 July 2012 US Army Korea Women's Army Corps The Herald Democrat July 24, 2012 Funeral services for Syble Theone Yost will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Pottsboro, Texas with the Reverends Julie Halstead, Christopher Yost and Kadi Creel officiating. Ms. Yost died at her home in Sherman, Texas on Saturday July 21, 2012 surrounded by her loved ones and hospice care after a brief battle with cancer. She was 80. Visitation with the family was held Monday at 6 - 7 p.m., at Pottsboro.The Order of the Eastern Star Gate City Chapter No. 77 will hold its rites in the Pottsboro Chapel. Ms. Yost was born July 13, 1932 in Wylie, Texas to Alwin and Opal Creel. Faithful daughter and beloved mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. After serving her country in the Women's Army Corps during the Korean conflict she attended school and graduated from the St. Paul's School of Nursing in Dallas, Texas. She retired from Medical Plaza Hospital in Sherman in 1993. Ms. Yost was active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her church life and community activities. She had been a member of Pottsboro Methodist Lakeway United Methodist and lastly a member of Princeton United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Locust Volunteer Fire Department organizing many fish fry and garage sales to support their endeavors. Ms. Yost was an endowed member of the Gate City Chapter #77 Order of Eastern Star. She was a duel member, Princeton Chapter #1126. She served as Worthy Matron in both chapters. She served as the state level as Grand Organist. Personal and traveling secretary to the Worthy Grand Matron of the State of Texas. She is survived by her sons Robert Gerald Yost of Pottsboro and Robert Patton Yost of Sherman; grandchildren Christopher Yost of Little Elm, Jennifer Yost Lyons of Pottsboro, Hank Yost, Lainey Yost and Nathan Yost of Tyler; great-grandchildren Patton, Cooper and Titus Lyons of Pottsboro, Emma, Caleb and Heidi Yost of Little Elm; brother Charles Creel of Duncanville; many beloved nieces and nephew; and best friend and traveling buddy Joyce Gilbert of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Mary Ann Sullivan. Interment will follow the service in Georgetown Cemetery.
