Mr. Skupin will be laid to rest at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro. Charlie was born November 2, 1917 in Falls County to Henry Skupin and Agnes (Resnicek) Skupin and passed from this life on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Charlie grew up in Central Texas near Rosebud. He joined the U.S. Army in 1941 and served during World War II. Charlie married Josie Chisholm, on September 10, 1948 in Brownfield, Texas. He worked as an exterminator and owned/operated his Pest Control Company until retiring in 1989. Charlie and Josie came to Sherman in 1998 and are members of the Western Heights Church of Christ. Charlie loved working, fishing, hunting, and his ultimate joy was being with his family. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Josie, of the home, son, Michael Skupin and wife Florence of Taiwan; daughter, Jane Shook of Carrollton; daughter, Jill Burkholder and husband Dan of Palenville, N.Y.; son, Jon Skupin and wife Annette and their children, Rebecca, Katie, and Sam of Sherman; son, Tim Skupin and wife Dawn, and their daughters, Allie and Anna of Round Rock, and several nieces and nephews. There is no scheduled family visitation but viewing hours will be from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Skupin, Steven Skupin, Henry Skupin, Howard Surovik, Clyde Siebman, and Sam Skupin. Services are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
