  Lona Mae Bennett 1928 - 2011  Lona Mae Bennett, resident of Pottsboro, TX passed away October 1, 2011 at the age of 83. Lona is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred O Bennett; sons Roger Bennett and wife Susan, Bill Bennett and wife Janice, and daughter Rose Bennett-Fortner; 4 beloved grandchildren - grandson Dale Fortner and grand-daughters Susan Balaban, Karie Spears, and Brandie Catherman; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Lona was born in Center Point, TX - the youngest of 18 children. Her father and mother, George and Martha Blakeway, both preceded her in death, as did all of her siblings. She worked for many years at Texas Instruments in Richardson TX, while raising her family in the Melissa/McKinney area. In 1983, the Bennett’s moved to Pottsboro for retirement, where she enjoyed her garden, books, crossword puzzles and visiting with the ladies at the beauty shop. Services for Mrs. Bennett will be held graveside at 10 a.m. Wednesday 1October 5, 2011 at Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro TX. The family will be receiving visitors Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 at American Funeral Services, 4312 W Crawford St, Denison TX.
