Carlos E. Miller 15 February 1941 - 26 September 2013 Robyn R. Miller 24 January 1943 - Carlos
Edward Miller, 72, left his home on earth to join his heavenly father
on Sept. 26, 2013, after a long courageous battle with Fibrosis lung
disease. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11:00am, at the Southmayd Baptist Church in Southmayd, TX. He was born in 1941 in Big Spring, TX. He was the eldest of four children of Ace Coleman and Lucille Sullivan Miller. He began his career at the former Safeway Foods Plant in Denison. While working there he was given the opportunity to receive his education in the electric and instrument trade; where he later became an electrical business owner. In 1979, while working for Dow Chemical Company, he began to volunteer his time helping employees and their families with problems associated with alcohol and substance abuse and marital issues. It was during this time that he was so praised for his hard work and compassion that the president of Dow Chemical Company offered to sponsor his education with a Bachelor's Degree in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling. He then established one of the first Employee Assistance Programs for Dow Chemical Company. In 1988-92, he developed recovery programs for Baywood Psychiatric Hospital, Parkside Lodge and La Hacienda. He was instrumental in the development of the Employee Assistance program for NASA. In later years he completed his professional career, as director for Gateway Foundation. His greatest love was his heavenly Father. His greatest strength was his love and compassion for others. His greatest joy was being with his wife, family and loving dogs: Tinker and Dusty. His greatest pleasure was traveling in the RV, going on adventures, mowing on his John Deer, playing the guitar and worshipping God with his beloved church family. His greatest gratification was knowing he would spend eternity with his heavenly Father. He was also a Master Mason and devoted Christian. He is survived by his wife, Robyn Miller of Sherman; three children, twin sons Tim and KC Miller of Pottsboro; daughter Tammy and husband Steve Ramsey of Burleson TX; granddaughter Kristina and husband Chris Nichols and daughter Kimberly of Commerce TX; one sister Janetta Rupp of North Carolina; one brother Jerry and wife Pam Miller of Bandera TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
