Josephine A. Whaley 5 October 1888 - 29 October 1961 Elmer C. Whaley 26 April 1882 - 1 April 1962 E.C. "Foxy" Whaley 10 March 1922 - 20 August 1994 Martha M. Whaley 17 June 1925 - wed 25 December 1942 August 26, 2012 Robert Kerry (Bob) Whaley, Sr. went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday August 19, 2012 in Princeton, Texas after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob was born on Dec 29, 1948 in Denison, Texas, the son of Earnest Clenton and Martha Spears Whaley. Bob grew up in Pottsboro and, after graduating from Pottsboro High School, he joined the Navy serving his country in the Vietnam Conflict. Bob was injured while serving and was honorably discharged. He returned to Pottsboro and, while working for Reed Drill, he met and married Karen Pierson. Together they started their family in Pottsboro then later moved to Garland, Texas and retired in Princeton, Texas. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars and was of the Baptist faith.Bob loved to fish and hunt, but what he loved the most were his kids and grandkids. Bob is survived by his sons, Dennis Whaley and his wife, Dee Dee and Robert Kerry Whaley, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer; daughter, Kimberly McGuffin and her husband, David, all of Princeton; brother, Steve Whaley, Pottsboro; five grandchildren, Alison, Clinton and Conner Whaley and Alyssa and Charles McGuffin; and Karen Whaley Smith, the mother of his children. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Whaley and grandson, Colton Whaley. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday August 27, 2012 at the Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas with Reverend Bobby Hancock officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders. Dad, we love and miss you. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Moore Funeral Home.
