Williams 5 August 1920 - 2 March 2010 US Army WWII The Herald Democrat March 4, 2010 DENISON - Calvin "Chub" Williams, 89, went home to our Lord Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Homestead of Denison. Mr. Williams was born August 5, 1920 in Lockney, son of Dee Bradford and Myrtle Elizabeth (Field) Williams. Chub served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Avice E. Moore....in Pottsboro. Chub worked as a well digger for 25 years in Lockney. He loved the Lord and was of the Methodist faith. Chub was a loving husband, father, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Williams is survived by his loving family: wife, Avice Williams of Denison; stepsons, Stan Fulfer and wife Betty of Cypress, and Weldon Jones and wife Sandy of Lockney; stepdaughters, Evelyn Hand and husband Rex of Gainesville; and Margaret Guess of Dallas; six step-grandchildren; sister, Alta and husband V.A. Trussell and sister Thelma Williams of Lubbock, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Georgetown Cemetery with Rev. Bill Brown and Rev. V.A. Trussell officiating. Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Fisher Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 W.
