Martha Wright Bailey, 81, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Stone Brook in Denison. Martha was born April 1, 1937 in Denison, Texas, the oldest of five children born to William and Edith Frost Christman. She met and married Noble Wright May 8, 1960. They made their home in Celeste, Texas. Noble passed away August 6, 1969. She later met and married Joe Bailey July 20, 1985 and moved to Leonard, Texas. Joe passed on March 11, 1990. Martha moved back to Denison to be near her family; she resided at Wesley Village for many years where she made many friends, enjoyed bingo games, dominoes and crafts. Later as her health began to fail, she moved to Stone Brook. Martha was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Martha leaves behind her son, William Wright and wife, Tina, of Lavon, Texas; grandsons, Cole Wright of Caddo Mills; and Bryan Walker of Lavon, Texas; granddaughter, Melissa Riley and husband, Brian and 2 great-grandchildren of Celeste, Texas; 2 sisters, Earline Burleson and husband, Dave; and Dorothy Jane Key and husband, Jimmy, all of Denison; many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Christman; sister, Linda Kirby; husbands; nephews, Steve Melton, Larry Bishop and Jason Key. Funeral services for Martha were held Friday afternoon, October 5, 2018 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Mike Hermanson officiating. Interment followed in Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro. Pallbearers were Jeff Key, Brian Riley, William Cole Wright and Bryan Walker. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home.
