Iva Jean Bates Mullican (Bo) went home to be with her Lord and Savior and her loved ones that have proceeded her in death on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. She was born September 9, 1936 in Pottsboro, Texas, daughter of Hubert and Jessie (Allen) Bates. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and going to church. She loved spending time with her church family. She was an active member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church of Denison, Texas. She worked all her life taking care of children. She took care of multiple generations. She loved it but most of all she was able to spend time with her granddaughters, and then the 7 great-grandchildren came along. She kept all of them. She loved it. She loved going to all the sports events and watching them play. She also enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys play and then discussing the game with her brother, Clinton. She is survived by one daughter, Donna, and her husband, Charlie, of Pottsboro. She has 3 granddaughters, Sherry and husband, Jeremy, of Pottsboro; Belinda and husband, Donnie Allison of Cuba, Missouri; and Codi Gilbert of Honey Grove, Texas, She has 7 great-grandchildren: Andrea Burk; Justin Burk of Pottsboro; James Robinson and Jesse Robinson of Pottsboro; Hadlee Gilbert of Honey Grove; and Mark Allison and Shawn Allison of Cuba, Missouri. Brother, Clinton Bates, of Pottsboro; brother-in-law, Jack Durham; special aunt, Linda Allen, of Sherman; and good neighbors, Stan and Sheri Hiberd; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Jackson officiating on Saturday morning, September 26, 2020. Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro, Texas under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Stan Hiberd; Jamie Robinson; Chance Magouirk, Mark Fisher, Andy Davis, Steven Davis, Phillip Davis and Paul Fox. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Earlene Durham; niece, Becky Durham; great-nephew, Mark Davis; and sister-in-law, Jackie Bates.
