  On Saturday, February 22, 2020 the Lord called Ray Upton, 78, to his heavenly home in Pottsboro, Texas. Mr. Upton was born January 2, 1942 in Washita, Oklahoma, son of Clarence and Mary Lynn Upton. He married the love of his life, Nellis Austin, May 27, 1961 in Arvin, California. Mr. Upton leaves behind his wife; son, Brian Upton; daughters, Debbie Upton; Brenda Nichols and husband, Ricky; grandchildren, Tiffany Bailey and husband, David; Stephanie Wemmert and husband, Jason; Eric Kemper and wife, Kristy; Erica Sanders and husband, Bobby; Erin Barrera and husband, Nick; Katie Crowder and husband, Nick; and Skylar Nichols; great-grandchildren, Kayla and husband, Javier; Ty; Colby;Charlee; Kelsie; Maddie; Athena; Ricky; Austin; Alina; Jason; Landyn; Hayden; Lilly; Kaydence; Karson; and Savannah; great-great-grandson, Victor; brother-in-law, Frank Rentfro; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Chester Upton; and sister, Barbara Jean Rentfro. Funeral services for Ray were held Wednesday afternoon, February 26, 2020 at Georgetown Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Galyon officiating. Interment followed in Georgetown Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.
