Jim W. Jacobs 10 August 1919 - 23 July 1984 US Army WWII, Korea Mildred Louise Jacobs, 94, slipped peacefully away into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Woodlands in Denison, Texas. Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness! (Matthew 25:23) Mrs. Jacobs was born March 4, 1924 in Jackson, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Florence Cravens Kasper. She married Jim W. Jacobs, May 15, 1943 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. After being a homemaker for many years and raising 11 children, she went to work outside the home for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 10 years before retiring. The great joys of her life were her family, dear friends and her faith in Jesus Christ. She will be remembered for her time helping others, listening, and finding the absolute best in any trying situation. Mildred was the sunshine in the life of many people. Mrs. Jacobs leaves behind her beloved family - sons, Dale Jacobs and wife, Dottie, of Silverton, Texas; Jim Jacobs and wife, Debbie, of Houston; Allan Jacobs and wife, Judy, of Denison; and John Jacobs and wife, Peggy, of Denison; daughters, Trudee Parks and Don Merrman of Sherman; Jan Wimett and husband, Tom, of Van Alstyne; Cathy Hauser of North Richland Hills, Texas; Barbara Marr and husband, Reggie, of Pottsboro, Texas; Charlene Hattner and husband, John, of Keller, Texas; Sheri Dorman and husband, Rick, of York, South Carolina; and Shelley Jacobs of Denison; 28 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren; brother Keith Smith of Montoursville, Pennsylvania; and sister, Phyllis Lothen, of Viroqua, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Nancy Carole Jacobs; granddaughter, Mitzi Gayle Parks; great-grandon, Kolton Smith; brothers, Leroy Kasper and Glen Smith. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 18, 2018 at Parkside Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Coffman officiating. Interment followed in Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro. Pallbearers were grandsons, James Jacobs, Brian Parks, Stephen Jacobs, Toby Schnitker, Drew Jacobs, Todd Malone, Trey Jacobs, and Jason Fitch.
