The Denison Herald
Sunday Morning, June 25, 1972 Wimms School, now Central Annex, was established with 3 grades as the city's fourth public school for Negroes. Denison's fifth public school, Terrell High School, became one of the leading Negro schools in Texas..... The school was built at 731 Elm, the homestead site of Arthur Mason Mosse and Nina Maude Stout Mosse. The three trees in the photograph were where the grandchildren played in a sandbox and where a huge swing hung. Between two of the trees there was a board that was used as a seat. ~ ~ ~ ~ Paula F. Mosse & Kathryn Mosse The school was originally built in 1966 with Donald Mayes as architect.
