Friday, August 26, 1921 pg. 1 The new high school building will not be ready for use at this date, therefore the entire school will be in session in the present school structure. In order to house all the grades it will be necessary to have half day sessions in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades until the new building is completed. To meet the increasing school attendance 5 new teachers have been elected: One for the 1st grade One for the 2nd grade one for the overflow of the 3rd and 4th grades One in high school The teachers for next years: 1st grade - Mrs. Kate Whedbee, Miss Gertrude Schooling 2nd grade - Mrs. Finnell, Miss Elvie Eagleton 3rd grade - Miss Oneida Copeland 4th grade - Miss Alma Horn overflow grade - Miss Gertrude Hearn 5th grade - Miss Emma Davidson 6th grade - Miss Mae Hall 7th grade - Miss Susie Noe, Principal of the grammar school as well as teacher in the departmental work of the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades High School Home Economics - Miss Coralee Echols Mathematics - Mr. Robert Holland Biological Sciences and director of boys' athletics - Mr. Lloyd Wright Principal of high school & teacher of history - Mr. O.C. Skipper English - Miss Lillie McBride Superintendent & teach Physical Sciences - Mr. H.L. Durham High School Physical Training in high school and the grades and expression in both schools, direct the plays of the season and girls' athletics Public School Music and teach music - Miss Tommie Chenowith Music - Mrs. Annette Harp New Courses Home Economics - taught in the 7th grade with 1/2 year of cooking and 1/2 year of sewing. Open to girls.
