High School Boys May Learn Trade in Navy
Sherman - (Special) - High School seniors more than 17 years of age may enlist in the United States Naval Reserve now and be placed on the inactive list until completion of this school year, the U. S. Navy Recruiting Station at Sherman has announced. Boys enlisted under such conditions will be classed as apprentice seamen, V-1.
After graduation from high school they will be given an opportunity to enter one of the numerous Navy trade schools where they can learn a trade that will be of much value to them after the present national emergency has passed.
College freshmen and sophomores may also enlist in Class V-1 for completion of the sophomore year, at which time they may request transfer to Class V-5 for training as aviation cadets.  College juniors and seniors may enlist in Class-1 and continue school until they receive their degree, then receive appointment as Reserve Midshipman.
Complete information of Class V-1 may be obtained at the U. S. Navy Recruiting Station in the Post Office building in Sherman.
