Sunday, September 20, 1896 pg. 3 LOCAL CONDENSATIONS Wednesday, September 16, 1896 - The Layne school house, 3 miles northwest of the city, has been remodeled, an addition of 10 feet being built, and a new roof and floor put in. Later it will be painted up in style. The work was done by the citizens of the community, thus saving to the school fund all save actual cost of material used.
