Denison, Texas Built
around 1883, Langston School was one of the earliest city-supported
schools for Denison's Africian American students. It was located in the
300 block of East Nelson Street. In 1916, the original school building
was demolished
and the students were soon attending school in an all-new facility which served the area until 1965. The school was closed and the school building was demolished in the late 1980s.
