Whitesboro News-Record September 18, 1915 pg. 12 PUBLIC SCHOOL OPENS The Whitesboro Public School opened Monday with a good attendance. The compulsory law has gone into effect but as the time of attendance required for this year is only 3 months; the the time the children must enter may be set by the school board, and since no time has yet been designated, there are still quite a number who have not entered. The teachers are assigned as follows: Miss Ida Mae Hall; E.L. Farr, Miss Elsie Doty and Geo. W. Acton, high school; W.R. Matthews, principal of school on Hall street; Miss Bettie Bridges, sixth grade; Miss Mabel Hanson, fourth and fifth grade; Miss Lutie Heard, fourth grade; Miss Elizabeth Legate, third grade; Mrs. Virgie Skinner, second grade; Miss Mary Kelly, first grade.
