Thursday, August 12, 1937 pg. 7 Plan to Minimize Teaching Loads in County is Offered Sherman - A policy of keeping pupils in their home districts when practicable so as to uphold teacher loads in the county's small rural school was adopted by the Grayson County board of trustees. Seven pupils were held in the Tom Bean district who sought to transfer to Kentuckytown. Pilot Grove was re-classified and reduced to seven grades at request of the school's trustees. A resolution was passed approving sale of the old Whitemound school building and property now owned by the Tom Bean consolidated school. Trustees at Tom Bean were advised that such trade as they might negotiate with Roe Miller, a rural store operator, would be approved by the county board.
