TIOGA IS SELECTED
The executive committee of the District Teachers' association met at Gainesville Saturday to pass upon the overtures made by several places to be selected as the place of holding the summer normal for Cook [sic] and Grayson counties.
There were eight members of the committee present and several ballots taken resulted in a tie between Whitesboro and Sherman.  At last Tioga was selected as a compromise.
The normal will begin June 3 and continue for six weeks.
There will likely be as many as 150 teachers in attendance but the plucky little winner of the honor of caring for and entertaining them feels able to do so creditably.
Tom Smith, superintendent of the Grayson County schools, was in attendance on the Gainesville meeting.
Profs. T.E. Goff of Whitewright and W.L. Wrenn of Valley View, the joint conductors of the normal, have in charge the selection of a competent corps of instructors.  Those so far selected are J.P. Clement of Calisburg, G.W. Acton of Whitesboro, W.H. Echols of Howe.  The selection of an expert primary teacher will be announced later.
