Whitesboro News-Record Friday, December 11, 1931 MEMBERS RED BRANCH NIGHT SCHOOL MARKETING FEEDS THRU LIVESTOCK It is being proved by the members of the Red Branch Agricultural evening school, that it is possible to make home grown feeds through live stock. This is being demonstrated by Royce Huffines who is feeding 156 Hereford heifer calves, 20 head of hogs and 16 feeder lambs and W.H. Matthews who is feeding 40 head of beef calves. Other members are feeding home grown feeds to dairy cows, hogs and laying hens. The only feeds that have been purchased are cottonseed meal, tankage, meat scraps and bone meal supplemented by home grown feeds such as ground oats, corn, peanut hay, grain sorghums and cotton seed meal. More livestock are being fed home grown feed in the Whitesboro trade territory this year than any previous time.
