Beginning in the fall of 1930, Althea Godwin and Dorothy Wood were the teachers. They taught for four years. Althea Godwin's husband, Metz, was the bus driver. The bus was a converted farm truck with wooden slats for sides, a canvas covering and wooden benches. It brought students and a keg of drinking water to the school. Dorothy Wood's home was near Sadler so she boarded with Mr. and Mrs. Barnes on the Marshall Ranch. She walked 1.5 miles to school. In the beginnning her salary was $60 per month and was, later, raised to $85.
