The
school was named for the topography of the land. The school
district joined Sadler District on the northeast; was north of Unity
District and south of Mineral Creek. The schoolhouse was located

Paul E. Anderson, father of author, was hired as principal of Plainview School in 1928. His family lived at the teacherage which was on the school ground. There were four teachers: Paul E. Anderson, Mrs. Mae Bumpass Russell, Mr. Jeff Cox and Mrs. Lucille McLain Hightower. Other teachers at Plainview School during the six years the Anderson family lived in the community were: Charlie Hanning, Penny Ann Cox Brown, Sadie Griffin, Nita Barnes, Estell Belsher.
