The Sherman Courier Friday, August 15, 1917 pg. 13 Fiftieth Anniversary Edition The North Texas Female College, as will be seen from the advertisement published elsewhere, will open on its third scholastic year on the first Monday in September next. Prof. J.R. Cole, A.M. President, has secured, we learn, the most efficient corps of teachers that were to be found, and that the institution will be complete in all its departments and appointments there is no question. The building, too, has been materially improved, the grounds ornamented and accomodations furnished for over two hundred students. The President has made arrangements with the City Council to teach one hundred and fifty students during the free school term. Students between the ages of eight and fourteen are entitled to the benefit of the free school term, after which their parents or guardians can contact with the President, if they desire, to continue their children at his school. This is a good school, it is deserving of success, and we have no doubt it will increase year by year in importance, as it should.
