Lovejoy School was about eight
miles east of Collinsville, Texas. Lovejoy School was on the Northeast corner of LoveJoy School Road and Cranfill Lane.
Water was drawn from a well and fires were built by the teacher. The school building was cleaned by the teacher and the students. Children walked to school or rode horseback. One time Bob and J. V. McWhorter got too close to a skunk on their way to school. They were promptly sent home upon arriving at the school building. Among the teachers were Jewell Holloway, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Neeley, Mrs. Thornton, Jasper Wheeler, Lucille Scoggin and Dorothy Winn. by Oma Lee Scoggin Lovejoy School History Schools Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson CountyTXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
