BOARD HIRES NEW PRINCIPAL
L.H. Linker, principal at Wylie, Texas, was employed as principal when school trustees met in special session Monday night.  Linker will replace Arthur Broyle, who has served as high school principal for the past two and one-half years.  Broyle resigned at the regular monthly meeting of the board.
In the January 8 resignation, Broyle cited entering private business at Burkett, Texas, as the reason for the resignation.
Linker will assume his position here within the next ten days, Supt. Charles Thompson said, in making the announcement.  The new principal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education from East Texas State University, a Master of Education degree from East Texas, and has 18 hours above master's degree in Public School Administration.  He has served as principal at Wylie High School since 1967.  Prior to that time he served as principal at Kaufman High School.  He also taught at Ennis and Harmony Public Schools.
Linker is married to the former Mozelle Taylor, and the couple have two children, Jerry Mac, age 26, and Meri Kay, age 22,  both of whom are in the teaching profession.
