Howe, Texas

First school was started by a lawyer in his home.
1877 First school building was built. It was a three-room structure located east of the railroad tracks on the north side of Haning Street.
1884 A new building was built on the same site with two rooms downstairs and one room upstairs.
1897 Marshall-Bean College was housed in a two-story brick structure at the cost of $5000.
1906 A bond was passed to build a new school building.
1959 Dorchester consolidated with Howe
1960 14.5 acres of land was purchased by Howe ISD for new school buildings.
2000 The new Howe High School was opened on Hwy 5.
