Note: The school alumni convened in Whitewright for the last time
in 1971. The picture of the 1903 football team was taken in 1903,
nearly 70 years prior to the publishing of the above picture. The
last sentence of the photograph caption appears to be tongue-in-cheek;
the first five schools listed were among the top football programs in
the southwest, and the last four all national football powerhouses.
Searching online for the opponents 1903 records, such as Notre Dame,
provide proof that the record for the Grayson College football game was
not authentic. Above are two news records of Grayson College's
efforts against Sherman High School and Wall School at Honey Grove,
