1942 MERGER OF 8 SCHOOL DISTRICTS DISCUSSED Special to The News Sherman, Texas, March 3 - A proposed consolidation of 8 common school districts in Northwest Grayson County into one district with a centrally located 11-grade school was discussed at a meeting at Willow Springs. A large crowd eveidenced interest in the proposal. Districts that may be consolidated are Willow Springs, Mill Springs, Overton, Hagerman, Enterprise, Pottsboro, Georgetown and Independence. A survey would be made to determine the best location for the school. Speakers describing aspects of the plan included Senator Olan R. van Zandt, Dr. J.A. Collinsville of Gordonville, county trustee; R.F. Daniels of the WPA; County Supt. S.R. McKinney; and Earl J. Brennan, Dallas architect.
