 Over 500 At Negro School The
Fred Douglass Negro School is located at 505 East College. The three
story building provides school facilities for nearly 500 pupils.
Another building was added on Music street side of the school grounds
in 1940 to house vocational classes. Ten of the sixteen teachers of Fred Douglass School have done work beyond the bachelor's degree and two lack a few hours for the master's degree. The boys and girls of the school have been district winners in athletics for four of the past five years.
