"My Mother taught at the Ethel school in the early
30's. I have
some of her class pictures and also a picture of the schoolhouse. A
local
historian - the late Ruth Henry - told me that there were three schools
at Ethel and that the first two had burned down. The last one was torn
down in the early 40's.
I was born in 1939 and I vaguely remember my Mother showing me the inside of the school. The school was located about 200 yards due North of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church" By Ronald Davidson While
a new school building was being constructed, the Baptist Church
building served as a meeting place for some of the classes.
Ethel
School consolidated with Collinsville School in 1941.
