Emberson and brother, Elijah Emberson, owned 25,000 acres of land and
held grazing rights to 50,000 more acres in Grayson, Denton
and Collin counties. They raised beef for the Confederate Army. They
donated the land for Emberson Chapel School, church and cemetery. Emberson Chapel was located at the top of the hill just past the Buck Creek bridge just South of Tioga on 377.  Schools Susan Hawkins © 2024 |
